I still watch too much TV

Hello hello!  So....I've mentioned before how much I love TV.  And how I watch too much it sometimes. Summer is a rough time and us TV watchers are forced into doing things we aren't proud of like watching Season 2 of The Bachelor Pad.  BUT Fall always comes thankfully and I thought that now most of the shows have premiered...I would share some of my new and old favorites!  So go ahead and just wash all your make up off, put your hair up in a ponytail, and take those contacts out because we are cozying up with our favorite friend....fall TV.

Monday - The Guilty Pleasure Day

Gossip Girl - CW

I've watched GG since season 1 and I'm still not sure why....

Hart of Dixie - CW

A new show this fall about a fancy Manhattan Dr. who relocates to Alabama.  The pilot just aired on Monday (so you can still catch up!) and it was way cute!

Tuesday - Favorites and Reality TV

Ringer - CW

Sarah Michelle Gellar returns to TV as a troubled twin who assumes the identity of her wealthy upper east side sister after her sister goes missing.  She always thought her sister had the perfect life but discovers that she was actually hiding a LOT of secrets....a very interesting show.  I'm really loving it

Glee - Fox
Yes I've stuck it out with Glee...last season was disappointing but this one is already shaping up to be phenomenal.

New Girl - Fox

I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW AND IT'S ONLY THE SECOND EPISODE.  Seriously stop what you're doing and go watch it.  The main character is pretty much me if I were cuter.  I adore this show.

Parenthood - NBC

I've loved this show since the very beginning....you should too....or we probably can't be friends anymore.

The Rachel Zoe Project - Bravo

I adore Rachel Zoe so much....

Wednesday - Comedy and Crime

Up All Night - NBC

Hilarious new show.  New parents who are used to partying and having fun....learning the hard way.  It's comedy is effortless.

The Middle - ABC

I LOVE the Middle.  Very true to life and the acting is just stellar.

Modern Family - ABC

I didn't get into this show until the second season but once I did...I then bought the whole first season too.  This show makes me laugh out loud more than almost any other show.

Suburgatory - ABC

New show...just started on Wednesday....it is hilarious!  My dad was laughing out loud a lot which he normally doesn't do.  It's about a New Yorker whose Dad moves her to the "cookie cutter" suburbs where every Mom is siliconed and all the girls are characters out of "Mean Girls".  It's so great.

Criminal Minds - CBS

My favorite crime show ever.

Dance Moms - Lifetime

Pretty much the ultimate of guilty pleasure for me...I can't help myself.

Thursday - Comedy and Crime Part Deux

The Big Bang Theory - CBS

I love this show so much.  I can't say enough good things about it.

Parks and Recreation - NBC

My favorite comedy of all time.

The Office - NBC

Classic

The Mentalist - CBS

Such a smart crime show.  Love the main character.

The Secret Circle - CW

New show this fall about a girl who moves to Washington state after her mom dies...she discovers that she's a witch who has some strong powers and she isn't the only one in the town...and it's a town full of SECRETS!  I love a good secret.

Friday and Saturday I'm usually catching up on the week's recordings on the DVR (or writing blogs about all the TV shows I'm watching...)

Sunday- Random...

Pan Am - ABC

New show this fall about the airline in the 1960's....very glamorous and mysterious...2 of my favorite things.

Dirty Soap- E!

It's a reality show that follows the real lives of soap stars.....yeah...you don't have to tell me what you're thinking in your mind...I already know.

So that's all for my update on Fall TV!  A couple new good ones are coming out in October including "Once Upon a Time" about characters from fairytales trapped in the real world....looks SO GOOD.

What are you watching this Fall?  Any new faves?  Share!!!

The Amazing Race

I love the Amazing Race.  It's....amazing.

If there are 2 things I want to be doing at any given moment it is a.) taking a nap in my new bed with my 1500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets (more on that later) or b.) seeing all the cool things I see on Amazing Race (except for the fact I HATE flying on airplanes). The gist is that teams, a pair of friends/relatives/lovers/harlem globetrotters, travel from clue to clue to end up at a destination and have to complete challenges along the way.  I love watching all the teams rush through cities and through the country in search of the little red and yellow clue box.  Sometimes this works out well, and sometimes they just look like lost idiots hopping through Australia in a a kangaroo costume.

So this always gets me thinking...if I were to go on the Amazing Race, who would be my partner?

Here are my prospects:

potential partner: best friend Jen

pros: can communicate well with each other, share a love of food, witty banter, is a mom so you know...can do things (like pose casually on a car)
cons: we would likely get eliminated for leaving the race to go to some exotic animal petting zoo or to try some amazing food.

potential partner: best friend Beth

pros: is very smart, used to live in England so she's like...totally aware of foreign countries?, very funny
cons: all the other contestants would be idiots and we would know that and probably make fun of them for it so everyone would hate us because we're smarter and prettier than them.  We would be eliminated because everyone would sabotage us.

potential partner: sister Calah

pros: likes travel, deals well with animals, has good teeth
cons: easily distracted by cats and Asian people, we would likely get eliminated for killing each other.

potential partner: father Doug

pros: SUPER smart, good traveler, prioritizes well, good problem solver, makes friends easily (he made friends with Dee Snider as evidenced in this photo)
cons: we both have really short tempers, we would get eliminated because we would be arguing with the taxi drivers on the actual shortest route...because we know more than everyone.  And we are always right.

potential partner: mother Caren

pros: interested in travel, short so she can squeeze under things if necessary
cons: we would be eliminated from the race because we missed our flight so we could read all the historical markers and we had 6 extra suitcases full of shoes that we couldn't carry to the next pit stop

Hmm...now looking at my prospects I think I'm just better off watching the race from the comfort of my own home....

another reason why i love my days off

I love my days off for a number of reasons but my current #1 reason would be Instant Netflix and them having all complete seasons of Friday Night Lights.

I started watching it on a whim when I was bored because I saw it on the list and I remembered my friend Beth telling me she really liked it.  Since I fully trust Beth and everything she says I decided to give it a try.  And I'm SO glad I did.  What a phenomenal show.  It never got very high ratings....and a couple seasons only have like 13 episodes.  But it is incredible.  NBC is airing the 5th (and final) season starting April 15th so there is still time to get caught up!  You won't be sorry that you did.
I will now bombard your eyes with teasers...anyone who doesn't want to watch this show after watching these....are people I don't care to associate with.

And this one for the final episode...which makes me cry everytime I watch it....

things i've learned from watching Criminal Minds

1. If you go into your bathroom alone at night....you will be murdered by a serial killer.
2. If all of a sudden your power goes out....you will be murdered by a serial killer.
3. If you are folding laundry in your room and you have your headphones in....you will be murdered by a serial killer.
4. If you are doing aerobics in the afternoon....you will be murdered by a serial killer.
5. If you are watching TV in the evening....you will be murdered  by a serial killer.
6. If someone comes to your door at night claiming they ran over a kitten and they need to use your phone but you all of a sudden can't turn on your porch light....you will be murdered by a serial killer.
7. Everyone is a suspect, from little children to old men....no one is off limits- they are all serial killers.
8. Don't give strangers a ride home...they are serial killers.
9. If sometimes your Dad disappears for long periods of time and your next door neighbor is a weird white guy who wears glasses.....they are both serial killers.
10. Don't eat chili at any kind of church function.  It probably has pieces of human flesh in it.  Because the guy who made it...yeah....he's a serial killer (and a cannibal).
11.  Homeless people and prostitutes are the first to go....they are killed....by serial killers.
12.  Hot guys are most likely serial killers
13. If your dog dies suddenly (along with other animals in the neighborhood) congratulations....your kid is a serial killer.
14. Stay away from pig farms in Canada...there are 2 brothers who live there....they are serial killers.
15. Remember Pony Boy Curtis from the Outsiders?  Yep...he's a serial killer.
16.. Hot black guys are not serial killers
17. Geeky white guys are all serial killers

Other Lessons:
- If Agent Hotchner is wearing a light blue shirt....they are about to solve the crime

-Jason Alexander is the creepiest human being to ever live on the face of the earth

-Agent Rossi is the most sarcastic human being to ever live on the face of the earth

- This guy...

should always be shirtless

It all boils down to this: never trust anyone....ever.

If you want to see an amazing clip about why FBI profilers are so awesome and why I call Agent Hotchner...Agent "HOT"chner....watch this

Fall TV time...

I love TV.  Summer is a rough time for TV fans.  We're forced to do things we aren't proud of like watch the entire season of The Bachelor Pad.

But now it's September and real TV is back! Here is what I'll be watching....raise your hand if you don't care.  That was a trick, I can't even see any of your hands.  Joke's on you.

First- shows I should have stopped watching when I was 19 but haven't...

Gossip Girl

One Tree Hill (I've been OBSESSED with this show since I was 17....I can't EVER let it go!)

The shows I really really really love:

Glee-  Little known fact: I balled my eyes out during last season's finale. Emotionally unstable? Maybe. Also, did you know my ipod contains the Best of Britney Spears? Did you know they’re doing a Britney Spears episode? This is what is called destiny.  I'm so obsessed with this show I can't even keep typing because my emotions are about to projectile vomit all over this blog post.  I can't even begin to describe my love in words.  Excitement.  That's all you need to know.

Parenthood-  This show is so great.  I don't know many people who are watching it.  You should watch it.

Criminal Minds- This show scares me so much that I have to sleep with a light on but it's SO GOOD I can't help myself!

The Office- Who doesn't love Michael Scott?

Parks and Recreation- I love this show.  Love it.

Now for new shows that I'll be giving a chance:

The Event- I heard the last 10 minutes would be the most talked about in television history but it already aired last night and I didn't hear anything about it....so we'll see

Blue Bloods- I have to watch all shows with Magnum P.I. on them...it's just a law I live by

Hell Cats- who doesn't love a show about cheerleading?  It also contains like half the old regulars from One Tree Hill.   It's actually really entertaining.  You heard it here first (and it might be the only place you hear it....)

So that's all for me....I have to go watch TV...but remember...
