Tuesday Playlist

For playlist Tuesday I'm going to do albums again!  I've recently gotten a few new albums that are SO GOOD I have to share!

Tyler Hilton - Forget The Storm

As most of you know....I've been a fan of Tyler's for a LONG time.  I've gone to see him in concert...many times.  His music is completely brilliant.  His new album was released today and I'm in LOVE.
Favorite tracks: Kicking My Heels, Prince Of Nothing Charming, Jenny, I Belong

Hunger Games - Music From District 12 And Beyond

I mentioned this soundtrack yesterday but I just thought I'd remind you that it's AWESOME.  And like I said...you don't have to be a fan of the books/movie to be a fan of this CD.
Favorite tracks: Eyes Open, Run Daddy Run, Kingdom Come, Come Away To The Water, Abraham's Daughter

The Fray - Scars And Stories

I adore The Fray.  I've also loved them for a very long time.  Their new album is no exception.
Favorite tracks: Heartbeat, I Can Barely Say, Munich, Here We Are

Cold War Kids - Mine Is Yours

Cold War Kids are a new favorite of mine but I can honestly say that I haven't heard a song from them that I don't like!
Favorite tracks: Skip The Charades, Mine Is Yours, Royal Blue

Fun. - Some Nights

I LOVED The Format a long time ago so I ADORE Fun.
Favorite tracks: Some Nights, We Are Young, Why Am I The One, Stars

Gotye - Making Mirrors

Don't even get me started.  I could talk for a hundred years about how much I love Gotye.  If you don't have the album yet....GET IT
Favorite tracks: Somebody That I Used To Know, Easy Way Out, Smoke and Mirrors, In Your Light

Of Monsters And Men - My Head Is An Animal

New favorite group of mine.
Favorite tracks: Little Talks, Love Love Love, Mountain Sound, Dirty Paws

Enjoy!!!  And if you have any other current faves...send them my way!
ALSO my friend Morgan has this amazing blog.....maybe you've heard of it???  It's called The Dime Diary and she's having a GIVEAWAY!!!  So head on over there and enter!!!

P.S. (are you getting annoyed by these yet....?) I added a button to follow me on Pinterest so....you should do that! :)

as of late

No playlist today.  Everyone is listening to Christmas music anyway.

So I thought I would share some of my favorite videos as of late.

#1 $h!% Girls Say
Hilarious

#2 Tyler Hilton and Elizabeth Huett - Jenny Turn Around
Even though it's a live performance....I'm in LOVE with this song.  And I'm obsessed with Elizabeth Huett.  And we already know how I feel about Tyler ( refer to posts...1 2 3 and 4)

#3 Aqua - Barbie Girl
Classic

#4 I'm dedicating this to my best friend Jenny's husband NIC
Nic recently threw down the gauntlet by claiming that I never mention him on my blog.  Which is not true.  Exhibit A.  BUT ANYWAY he said that "mentioning" him is NOT the same as dedicating a whole post to him.  So I dedicate number 4 to Nic because he shared this video and I think it's hilarious.  I've watched it a thousand times and when it came on the TV on Sunday while I was with my friends I was all "UMM GUYS SHHHHH AND WATCH THIS BECAUSE MY FRIEND JENNY'S HUSBAND NIC SHOWED THIS TO ME AND I LAUGHED BECAUSE IT'S SO FUNNY" and then they were all quiet and we watched it and they all thought it was funny too!  PLUS the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Packers on Sunday!  I love the Packers but my heart belongs to Matt Cassel so in turn....it belongs to the Chiefs (I mention this because NIC is a fan of the Chiefs.  ARE YOU READING THIS NIC????)

#5 Wal Mart muddy kid.....
he's so adorable I want to weep

#6 N'Sync Merry Christmas Happy Holidays
Best music video EVER

#7 Michael Buble "Duets" Album on Saturday Night Live
We were all laughing so hard we were crying

Happy Tuesday!!!

I swear I'm not a stalker...

What's up readers???

I know...it's been a whole 3 days since I've blogged.  How have you been able to continue on with your lives?  You probably haven't.  You've probably been laying in bed incredibly morose with single tears falling occasionally from your eyes.

Well NO MORE!  Because I'm back!

Just a little update about my weekend last weekend (which I know you all care about a whole lot)

I went and saw Tyler Hilton again!  Yep you read that right.  For those counting at home this would be the FOURTH time.  I'm not a stalker though.  Really I'm not.......(if you want to read how I'm NOT a stalker you can just read here and here)

Anyway..he was awesome as usual.  He did a show with Sarah Darling (she sings country music...one of her music videos just entered the CMT Top 20 countdown...wow!) and wait for it.....EDWIN MCCAIN.    Yeah Edwin McCain as in "I wrote the most perfect song of all time called I'll Be" Edwin McCain.
It was a great concert and for those of you who couldn't be there (awwwwww) here is some video (yayyyy)!

In other news I was watching "16 and Pregnant" last night (because clearly I hate myself) and the girl's family kept calling her baby daddy "disrespectful" but I think they really meant "poor".
Then I kept watching and no...by disrespectful they meant "douchebag who is poor".

That's all folks!  Keep waiting because my feelings on the Royal Wedding are coming up soon.  And you don't want to miss that because my feelings are intense....

*P.S. I was under the influence of Easter candy and Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper while writing this.  So if you're reading it and thinking that it's coming off like I'm a crack head with ADD...that's pretty much exactly how it is.

Me and Tyler Hilton: BFFs

So a few weeks ago my dear friend Tyler Hilton actually came to PROVO for a show.  I know...I was shocked.  I rounded up the homies and we headed over to Velour for the show.  It was SO GOOD.  He performed along with Josiah Leming (who you may remember from American Idol...he was so awesome) and the show was seriously so great.

And don't worry after the show...

WE WERE INVITED TO HANG OUT ON THE TOUR BUS WITH THEM!!!

Yeah you read that right.
I don't know why I'm so cool either.

Here's some photos and videos from the show....I've got to go sign some autographs and let the paparazzi take staged candid photos of me where I look completely perfect on purpose naturally.

Sunset Blvd

You'll Ask For Me (my absolute favorite song)

You'll Ask For Me - Hook

fall in love with me on sunset boulevard

Tyler Hilton had a new EP come out on Tuesday titled "Ladies and Gentlemen".  It's completely amazing.  Check it out.  Until then here is a video for one of my very favorite songs he's ever written.
I present you with "Sunset Blvd"

I'm sensing a coveted "boyfriend of the week" spot is in your near future my friend.

High highs to low lows to high again

And I'm not talking about the "pass the dutchy on the left hand side" kind of high so...calm down.  Let me give you a run down of the last crazy 24 hours for me (saving the biggest news for last so you have to wait for it)

  • Yesterday I went over and made homemade salsa all afternoon for our Relief Society activity tonight.  They were really delicious so I was happy and proud.
  • Then I got the craziest and most exciting email maybe of my life (that you will have to wait for)
  • Then I went out on a date with my favorite Jessica and we ate AMAZING fish tacos at Rubio's (seriously so so good) and then saw the movie "Date Night"

Oh my hysterical.  Seriously stop what you are doing and go see this movie...now.  I laughed so hard I thought I was going to hyperventilate.  How could you go wrong with Steve Carrell and Tina Fey though?

Ok for the low low...
  • I did not get the job at the place I interviewed on Friday.  They said my interview went really really good but they had someone with many years of experience in a dental office setting...boo!  So I was sad for a few minutes.
But...(back to high again)
  • then I got a call for another interview on Monday.  It's for a personal assistant to a CEO- the benefits sound amazing as is the pay so...fingers crossed on that one!

Now for my grand  huge supersized news.  A couple of months ago I entered a contest on Tyler Hilton's website to be his personal road reporter for his show here in Salt Lake City.  And I got the email yesterday...

That I won!

Can you believe it?  The only thing I've ever won in my life were 2 tickets to see High School Musical on ice and they were expired.  Of course.
So this is kinda a big deal.
I get 2 tickets for his show and a press pass so I have unlimited access to take photo/video of the concert and then I write about it and they post it on his website!  Pretty exciting stuff if you ask me!

And tonight is our relief society activity that I've been working for a week on (so send me good vibes)
and drum roll please...
GLEE! The power of Madonna episode....watch it or don't but if you don't you'll be super lame!
Oh also Life Unexpected (which Jen has been bossing me around to watch) is on too....and yes Jen I will watch it for the love of Pete! :) ha ha I love my friends.
Until next time....
Life is all about ups and downs- so appreciate both, you never know what's around the corner for you.
also...smoking marijuana is illegal so...don't do that.

In Your Face!

So I don't know if you guys know this but one of my best friends is Tyler Hilton.  He is hilarious.  I recently came across these delicious (figuratively AND literally) videos and thought I would share them with  you.  I hope they make you laugh like I did.  Also if you aren't already...be prepared to fall in love with him because of his wit, hair, cooking skills, and shenanigans.

I present "Cooking With Tyler" (presented in 3 parts)

Part Un

Part Deux

Part Trois

and just because every delicious dish needs dessert....this one

Happy Wednesday

blizzards, lost cars, pizza, and Tyler Hilton

I know the title of the blog looks like a "one of these things does not belong here" game.

It's not.

Believe it or not all these things tie into one event.

The Sundance Film Festival

Jessica and I decided we were going to brave the cold weather (and winter storm advisories) and head up to Park City, UT for the annual film fest.

I was really excited because it's the perfect place to do some celebrity spotting. I even wore my sunglasses (at night) around for awhile so I'd look like a celebrity too. Then people would come up to me and be like "aren't you that one girl?" and I'd be like "yes" and then they'd say "can we have your autograph?" and I would give it to them because that is the kind of tender hearted celebrity I am!...
sorry. back to reality.
When we got there our first item of business was to eat. We were starving. After hanging out and chatting with some cool kids on the shuttle (shout out to scarf boys!!!) we decided the best place to go would be

We split a DIVINE Hawaiian style pizza and then braved the cold weather again.

Walking down the street we happened upon an art gallery. I said out loud "ya know Tyler Hilton is supposed to be playing at an art gallery"
and just then who do I see through the window?
Tyler Hilton

If you don't know who Tyler Hilton is...you should. I've blogged about him before.
But here's some more info:

he is a musician who writes incredible music. seriously lyrics like poetry set to music type music
he is an actor. acting gigs include: one tree hill, walk the line, charlie bartlett, and a cameo in Taylor Swift's video "Teardrops on My Guitar"

he is awesome
pretty much all you need to know.

so we go inside just as he is about to start his set. he sang. he played guitar. he was awesome.
after we hung out to say hi and have a little photo op. he was so cool. we chatted. we exchanged hilarious anecdotes. at one point he hit me with his jacket. i didn't care. he smelled like hair gel and genius.

then we braved the cold once more (at this point the snow is coming down in a blizzard like pattern. the ground is covered in snow/mud slushy. it is slippery.)

whilst walking along the sidewalk we bumped into (literally) Ian Ziering. You may remember him as Steve Sanders. It was too cold to get a pic. I've met him already anyway.
Then we proceeded to look for somewhere to hang out. We found a little hole-in-the-wall type bar that wasn't as crowded as the rest.
whilst entering the bar we bumped into (not literally) Andy from The Bachelor. He was with some girl and on his way out so no picture there either.

We hung out for awhile and then decided we should head out. It was midnight at this point and the snow was coming down even harder.

We hopped back on the shuttle to head back to the car. And met up with our long lost buddies "the scarf boys". Shuttle drops us off at Lot #4. We enter said lot and can't find the car anywhere. We proceed to walk up the snow covered hill to lots 3,2, and 1 respectively. Still no car.
We then proceed to walk all the way back down the hill and finally (after walking through snow literally up to our knees, falling down multiple times, and laughing so hard we almost pee our pants) we find the car in lot #6.

We made the treacherous journey back down the hill through Park City and back down the canyon. Thanks to Jess's amazing driving skills and rockstar of a car we got back down safely. We went to a shady Wal-Mart for some supplies and headed on back to her place for a slumber party! Which was so fun because we hadn't done that since college when we all used to bring our mattresses out to the living room...aww memories.

After an episode of Jersey Shore we both crashed.

All in all it was a great weekend. I had a blast and can't wait to do it all again next year!
