Happy Birthday Bub!

Today is my little brother's 7th birthday.

I seriously can not even believe that he is seven years old today.  He is officially a big kid.
I don't know if you know this but.....I kind of adore my brother.

He loves: macaroni and cheese, ice cream, video games, golf, the movie "Coraline", animals, maps, Uno, The Upside Down Show, karate, the song "Hey Soul Sister" by Train, and the food court at the mall

He does not love: meat, when I don't wear make-up, going to bed, rainy days, waiting for things, and pants

My brother can make me: stressed, frustrated, exasperated,  angry

but he can also make me: laugh every single day, proud, happy, excited

He is truly my favorite thing in the whole world.  I can't imagine my life without him and I'm so grateful every day that he is my brother and probably my best friend.

I love you Bub!

The day my brother got a milk maid

Today I had this conversation with my brother

Me: "Hey Bub do you want to go to the store with me?"
Bub: "Umm...are you driving?" (*I guess that played a large role in his decision)
Me: "Yes"
Bub: "Uh...yeah"
Me: "Ok do you know what we're getting?"
Bub: "Yeah...white sauce, cheese, and....milk maids"
Me: "Milk maids???"
Mom: "Yeah I think he means Mild Duds"
Bub: "Oh yeah...Milk Duds"

I don't know what store he thought we were going to....but for future reference...we need milk maids.  Our goats are begging us.

"the littlest birds sing the prettiest songs"

line from "The Littlest Birds" by The Be Good Tanyas
It was my song for the day.  The sun was out and I spent the day hanging with Bub doing what we like to do best...sidewalk chalk.  His friend came over and we drew pictures to our hearts content.  I drew some pretty awesome hearts and flowers.

I also made a recreation Michelangelo- style of the  nine scenes from the book of Genius as seen in the Sistine Chapel however...I didn't want to make anyone feel sad at how artistic I am.

So instead I'll post a picture of the ghetto-style hopscotch we played.

Yes that's an 11.

I'll have you know that when I showed Bub and his friend how to play hopscotch I instantly turned into a rockstar.Thank you childhood.

Until next time,
Red Rover Red Rover send Vanessa right over
