Dear Tom Brady

This is a weekly segment I like to call "Dear Tom Brady" which will feature a letter I have written to my arch-nemesis, Tom Brady.

Dear Tom Brady,

What is with the hair?  You look like a douchy-er version of Justin Bieber.

Sincerely,
Vanessa

A Brief Interlude with my sister

I miss my sister.  We talk on Facebook.  This is what we talk about.

I would also like to dedicate this picture to her.  Because she's the only one who will get it.

Miss you sister.

Hit Me Baby One More Time

I remember when I was 12 years old this girl named Britney Spears released an album.  I was completely hooked.  I learned the dances, played the CD CONSTANTLY, made up my own music videos to her songs, I even bought knee socks.
I'm not joking.
Britney Spears literally changed my life.  I know that sounds a bit dramatic but it's true.  I know she gets a bad wrap but let's be honest- she changed pop music.  At the time there were ZERO pop stars out there that were female (I'm not counting Madonna...she's been around forever).  After Britney came Christina, Jessica, Mandy, etc....but she started it.
Glee tonight paid tribute to Britney and it was awesome.
Reminded me of how obsessed I was with this music video when it was released.  I was in 7th grade and I would literally sit in front of MTV every day after school just waiting for them to play it.

Say what you will about Britney. To me she will always be amazing.

Fall TV time...

I love TV.  Summer is a rough time for TV fans.  We're forced to do things we aren't proud of like watch the entire season of The Bachelor Pad.

But now it's September and real TV is back! Here is what I'll be watching....raise your hand if you don't care.  That was a trick, I can't even see any of your hands.  Joke's on you.

First- shows I should have stopped watching when I was 19 but haven't...

Gossip Girl

One Tree Hill (I've been OBSESSED with this show since I was 17....I can't EVER let it go!)

The shows I really really really love:

Glee-  Little known fact: I balled my eyes out during last season's finale. Emotionally unstable? Maybe. Also, did you know my ipod contains the Best of Britney Spears? Did you know they’re doing a Britney Spears episode? This is what is called destiny.  I'm so obsessed with this show I can't even keep typing because my emotions are about to projectile vomit all over this blog post.  I can't even begin to describe my love in words.  Excitement.  That's all you need to know.

Parenthood-  This show is so great.  I don't know many people who are watching it.  You should watch it.

Criminal Minds- This show scares me so much that I have to sleep with a light on but it's SO GOOD I can't help myself!

The Office- Who doesn't love Michael Scott?

Parks and Recreation- I love this show.  Love it.

Now for new shows that I'll be giving a chance:

The Event- I heard the last 10 minutes would be the most talked about in television history but it already aired last night and I didn't hear anything about it....so we'll see

Blue Bloods- I have to watch all shows with Magnum P.I. on them...it's just a law I live by

Hell Cats- who doesn't love a show about cheerleading?  It also contains like half the old regulars from One Tree Hill.   It's actually really entertaining.  You heard it here first (and it might be the only place you hear it....)

So that's all for me....I have to go watch TV...but remember...

New job, new hair, new boyfriend

Some pretty big changes happening in my life right now!  As you know I've been working at Macy's in cosmetics/fragrances since May.  My official job was "on call" which means I was a floater...I would work from counter to counter as needed.  Sometimes I would have 40 hours....sometimes I would have 16.  It was unpredictable but something that I loved.  Ever since I started I have been longing to be a regular full or part-timer at a counter....the Lancome counter in particular.  I love their products and I feel so comfortable there.  They just have never had a place for me because they already had a full time and a part time.
Last Monday the part time girl came in and gave her 2 weeks notice.  I was holding my breath just praying that meant I could interview and possibly get the job.
Tuesday I go into work and my manager handed me my transfer paperwork, the main Regional manager person of Lancome just happened to be around and came to interview me, loved me, and told my manager to continue paperwork.
I have offiically been hired as the new part-time beauty adviser for Lancome!

I am so excited!!!!  This is something I have worked for and wanted for so long!!!

Also.....I cut my hair

And yeah that's the bathroom...because only super classy girls like me take self-photos in the bathroom.

What do you think???

ALSO we got a new puppy!

He is so sweet and adorable!  But we still can't come up with a name.  So if you would be so kind as to vote in the poll to your right we would greatly appreciate it!!!

Waiting all day for Sunday night....

Manning vs. Manning in Sunday Night Football tonight....in honor of this occasion I would like to share this video with you

May the best MAN-ning win.....
In other words....

GO COLTS!!!

Walking On Sunshine

I really do love Glee so much.  This is one of my favorite scenes of all time.  Sorry the sound quality is so low but I needed one with Rachel's speech at the beginning.  This is a motto that I live by:

"Thank you so much, it really is a pleasure.  While the boys chose a selection of songs that cast an eye inward on the irresponsible life choices and sexual hunger of today's modern teens, we've chosen a selection of songs that speaks to the nation as a whole during these troubling times filled with economic uncertainty and unbridled social woe because if there's two things America needs right now, it's sunshine and optimism....also angels!"

New hair.....again

So I FINALLY found a hairstylist out here I can trust!  Thank heavens for making friends at work who also have other skills and talents.  This is what I'm doing to my hair....cut and color wise.  What do you think?  Is it ok or too much of the same?  Speak now or forever hold your peace!

The real Disney

Last night I was falling asleep to a movie and they had a preview for the movie 101 Dalmatians...the people version (yes the one that came out in 1994, yes this was a VHS I was watching...yes we still own a VHS player)

And the announcer says "and the most evil villain ever"...about Cruella De Vil....and I thought.....there is no way SHE is the most evil Disney villain ever.  No way. She just wanted a nice fur coat to keep her warm! What's so wrong with that?  I can think of about a thousand villains who were WAY worse.

1.) Evil Step-Mother- Cinderella

What kind of a deranged woman who is supposed to love and take care of you.....lets her ugly daughters rip your beautiful dress off?  Terrible.  Just terrible.

2.) Scar- The Lion King

He KILLED HIS OWN BROTHER and then blamed his nephew.....what a jerk.

3.) Gaston- Beauty and the Beast

What a narcissistic douche.....plus he ate raw eggs....who does that?

4.) The evil witch lady- Sleeping Beauty

She was able to transform herself into a fire-breathing dragon! I never saw Cruella do that.....just sayin.

5.) Hades- Hercules

Oh I'm sorry....isn't he the ruler of the UNDER WORLD??  As in hell?  Whoever RULES HELL should definitely get top billing in the villain department.

6.) Ursula- The Little Mermaid

Sister was messed up. She was all crazy and had a million legs and tried to kill Prince Eric and transformed herself into someone beautiful (named Vanessa.....by the way) and used live creatures for her lipstick.....what a freak (and if you aren't born a Vanessa....don't try to be one....it just won't work for you)

7.)  Shan Yu and the Huns- Mulan

They were single handedly trying to RUIN CHINA  an entire country people!  THEN they sneak into a dragon costume DURING A CELEBRATION to attack the city.  Way to ruin a parade and the hopes and dreams of Chinese children everywhere you JERKS!

8.) Sid- Toy Story

Probably the worst of all.  He dissected toys and lit things on fire....can you say sociopath?  Little kids who are evil are so much worse than anything else who are evil....let's be real here.  I saw "Children of the Corn", "The Omen"....I watch "Criminal Minds"...I know what these creepy kids grow into.  Don't try to convince me of anything less.  Sid wins hands down.

There are some villains I sympathize with too....

Captain Hook

He was fashionable, a PIRATE, rocked a sweet mustache, and he only had one hand.  Give the guy a break.

Jafar

He made me laugh....plus the facial hair!  I mean c'mon!  It's amazing!

I say focus on the truly evil ones and give the rest a break....they're just trying to live their life and drink their milk ok?

Have you forgotten?

For the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. It's a memory not only of loss and mourning but also a memory of bravery and self-sacrifice, and the love that lays down its life for ...a friend- even a friend whose name it never knew."
-George W. Bush
